Nick Somberg for Congress

2024 Candidate for U.S. Congress - MI-11
Running to lower costs, reduce the deficit, and limit unnecessary government involvement in Oakland County. #PICKNICK November 5th 🇺🇸

You know your CNN interview hit the mark when they only use one sentence of what you said. My client, Meshawn Maddock, who’s facing 8 felonies stemming from the 2020 election, is now a 2024 Elector for Trump.

“I’m proud of her,” said Maddock’s attorney, Nick Somberg. “She is not afraid. It’s beautiful. It’s like poetic justice. It’s partial justice for her. The rest will come when we get this case dismissed. I think the only reason these charges were brought was to stop Trump from winning Michigan. They failed, and it’s time to take the loss and let this go.”

🔥 New Episode Alert! 🔥
In Episode 5 of the Liberty Lawyer Podcast, I sit down with fellow attorney David Rudoi of Rudoi Law —who’s on the opposite end of the political spectrum from me, but where we agree is what matters: defending liberty and upholding the Constitution.

Together, we dive into one of Oakland County’s largest marijuana dismissals, expose some shocking investigative flaws, and talk about our battles against government overreach. From civil asset forfeiture to Stingray surveillance, this episode tackles the big issues around civil rights and justice reform.

I also share my libertarian views on drug legalization, decriminalizing victimless crimes, and why I think we need a fresh look at laws around drinking and driving.

I didn't win the election last night, but honestly, it doesn't feel like I lost. I feel great, and I've received more messages than I can even respond to on every platform. I'm so thankful to everybody. I'm going to try to get back to every single person because this journey has meant so much to me.

It doesn't feel like I lost—I didn't lose. I won in life. At 34 years old, I ran for the United States House of Representatives. I was elected the Republican nominee and ran against a well-funded, established Democrat in a heavily Democratic district. The results were 40 to 60. My opponent refused to debate me, refused to even be in the same room as me. Every person who met me knew I was the clear superior choice. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I've learned so much and grown immensely—my public speaking abilities, my ability to think on my feet as a lawyer, the media coverage I've generated, the new followers in real life and on social media, the connections I've made, the hands I've shaken, the speeches I've given—I didn't lose; I won at life.

Part of my goal was to help turn Michigan red and get Republicans elected across the board. Congratulations to Mike Rogers, and congratulations to my friend Matthew Ackerman for Court of Appeals—which is not a partisan position, but he ran a great campaign. And absolutely, congratulations to President Donald J. Trump, who is going to go down in the history books as one of the greatest people. Look at this man's sacrifice—what an inspiration to never give up, even if you disagree with him. Look what he's withstood: impeachments, legal challenges, criticism, and threats. He never gave up, and he came back.

I feel like I can do anything. I'm never going to give up on any of my goals and dreams. Also, thanks to my personal hero, Elon Musk, who is also making tremendous sacrifices to stand up for the First and Second Amendments and for what's right. It's an honor to live at the same time as these great men who are fighting for us and for the freedom of humanity in the world.

I also want to thank everybody who helped me—the volunteers, the people who donated any amount of money. It all went to great use. The majority of my campaign was personally funded, and I have zero regrets. I know what to do for next time, and I can come back even better. I want to thank the Republican Party, the Oakland County Republican Party, and all the dedicated people. We did it, guys, and the future of America is safe for the time being.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
